Every year, travelers take hundreds of millions of trips and spend billions navigating the friction of getting from A to B. Too much of that journey is spent waiting, worrying, and dealing with logistics that haven't kept up with the times.

LugLess exists to bypass that inefficient, outdated process. Our mission is simple: make travel easier, safer, and often cheaper, so you can actually enjoy the journey.

How LugLess works with carriers

Our shipping search engine finds you the cheapest available shipping label for your travel itinerary. Behind the scenes, the LugLess algorithm compares live UPS and FedEx rates (and additional carriers as we bring them online) to identify the most cost-effective option for your trip.

If all you need is a label, there's no additional cost to using our platform. When you want more support, you can add options like doorstep pickup, extra value protection, and live support from a real LugLess team member. You choose the level of help. You only pay for what you use.

Our story (so far)

LugLess started with a simple frustration: dragging heavy bags through crowded airports, paying more and more to check them, and losing time we'd rather spend actually traveling.

A quick look at the numbers made the problem obvious. Checked baggage systems were never designed to be customer-friendly, and traditional shipping wasn't built around travelers' needs. There had to be a better way.

Some key moments in our journey:

  • 2009

    It all starts with one stubborn idea: your bags should meet you there, not trail you through the airport. LugLess is born.

  • 2012

    We take our case to the sharks on national TV. Turns out we're not the only ones done with baggage claim (ABC's Shark Tank, Season 4, Episode 25).

  • 2014

    A big year: Entrepreneur Magazine names us to its 100 Brilliant Companies list, and we join forces with sister company Luggage Forward to compare live UPS and FedEx rates for your fastest, cheapest route.

  • 2019

    Suitcases, meet the crew. Golf clubs, skis, and snowboards get to skip baggage claim too.

  • 2020

    We add box shipping, because "luggage" isn't always a suitcase.

  • 2021

    We take home the Shyft Conversions Master Award at the very first ShyftX Awards. Yes, we cleared some mantel space.

  • 2023

    We cross 500,000 bags shipped. That's a whole lot of shoulders that got the day off.

  • 2025

    Bag number one million hits the road, and we roll out handy tools like our bag calculator and airline baggage fee guides.

  • 2026

    We head north, bringing the lug-less life to Canada with a dedicated shipping service.

Today, we keep refining our technology, routes, and support so that traveling without bags isn't a luxury. It's just how smart travelers move.
